For the first time in quite a while it’s just Chris and E. talking radio. Tears are shed for Whoopi; the PPM is delayed; Don Imus forces himself on the show, and the FCC wants you to — quick! Look over here! — wait, what was I saying?
- Much to E.’s delight, Christmas is in full swing on the radio with plenty of stations offering an all-Christmas music format. Plus: a note from the Suit Snob about limited music selections this Christmastime.
- Volvo will be selling their cars equipped with HD Radios. (Thanks, Vinny!)
- You can’t Wake Up with Whoopi anymore, but you can wake up with Kidd Chris.
- Arbitron is giving in to big radio and stalling the roll out of the PPM in San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles.
- Don Imus.
- The CBS writers walked, and E. is all about Anderson Cooper.
- Internet radio lost two big players to the fight against the RIAA, et al: Yahoo! and AOL are shuttering their web radio operations.
- Excellent news! The Star and Buck Wild Morning Show is returning to
TVradioTVsorta radio on class-A TV station WNYZ. As is the case with all channel 6’s, you can get the audio on 87.7FM, which is all WNYZ does — the audio. So, get it? They’re a “radio” station. - The FCC is expanding LPFM so you don’t notice Clear Channel buying every other locally owned station out there.
The Pod 25 theme music is “Never Get Out” by Brad Sucks.
